NSJF, the umbrella organization of sports journalists, had deposited the amount received from International Sports Press Association (AIPS) to support the quake hit members of NSJF.After receiving the check, Koirala said the amount collected in the fund will be fully utilized. " I want to assure you that the amount deposited will be fully utilized," said Koirala, who also thanked NSJF team for the support.
He also said that he was seriously concerned regarding reports that the rice, oil and lentils distributed by various donors to the quake victims were rotten and inedible. "Those who bring such goods shall be punished," he shared.
Briefing on NSJF activities, Phuyal informed that it had received $ 5000 for the Relief Fund and family of late sports journalist Suman Bhomjan who died during the devastating earthquake. NSJF on Saturday had handed over Rs 1.259 million to the family of Bhomjan at his residence. Bhomjan was the founder president of NSJF Makwanpur Coordination Committee.
NSJF team including President Phuyal, IPP and AIPS Asia Executive Member Niranjan Rajbanshi, Secretary and Federation of Nepalese Journalist executive member Prakash Timalsina, Vice President Devendra Subedi, General Secretary Mahesh Acharya, Treasurer Pramod Pokharel and Members Prajwal Oli and Anjan Khadka had been to Prime Minister's official residence at Baluawatar to hand over the amount.
