Speaking at the press meet, NSA’s general secretary Jagat Man Shrestha informed that a total of 184 swimmers –112 male and 72 female—from 35 schools and four clubs are participating in the competition.

All the schools sending the swimmers for the championship are from the Kathmandu Valley.

Likewise, swimmers from departmental clubs Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force, alongside non-departmental clubs Baneshwor Swimming Club and Paradise Club, are also participating in the championship.

Although the championship is not a selection tournament for any international championship, NSA said it will recognize and reward new national records made throughout the competition. Shrestha said that the swimmers setting national records will be rewarded with cash prize of Rs 5000 each.

According to NSA, this championship is the last competition of the season that started back in April-May. NSA has already organized four domestic tournaments this season.
