KATHMANDU, Oct 10: The Non Resident Nepalis (NRNs) have complained of an absence of investment-friendly environment to attract those who want to invest in different sectors in Nepal.

They said political instability and professional insecurity have created adverse effects to discourage potential investors.[break]

The NRNs can invest enough in the country; however, they have been investing to purchase daily goods as the state has not been able to provide security even to the investors.

President of NRN Association Devman Hirachan said not only NRNs but also the foreigners will come to invest if peace and security was established in the country.

“There are maximum possibilities for investment in Nepal,” said President Hirachan.

However, NRN’s dream to change such possibilities into concrete results has been stranded due to political and financial instability.

He said of the gross domestic product, around 25 per cent is received from remittance. But the government has not been able handle it in the right way. He added that if the budget was invested in right way some employment opportunities could be created.

NRN President for Belgium, PG Sherpa said he invested money in purchasing land after he found it insecure to invest in other sectors.
