KATHMANDU, May 13: Nepal Rastriya Bank (NRB) has directed banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to implement oath-taking provisions as stated in the Banks and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA), 2016.
Issuing a circular to BFIs on Friday, the central bank said that the chairman of board of director (BoD) of ‘A’ class banks should take oath of office and secrecy from the governor of deputy governor of the NRB.
Likewise, a deputy governor will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the chairman of board of directors of ‘B’ class banks. Similarly, president of board of directors of BFIs outside the Kathmandu Valley will have to take the oath of office and secrecy from the director of NRB’s regional offices, according to the circular.
