NOC tanker held for black-marketeering fuel

LALITPUR, March 31: Police have arrested a driver and an operator of a construction company while they were illegally transporting fuel in a tanker belonging to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).

According to Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur, a police squad deployed from Police Circle, Chapagaun seized an NOC tanker, Na 2 Kha 6698, ferrying 3,000 liters of petrol on Wednesday night.


The black-marketeering came to light after the police team intercepted and inquired the tanker while it was ferrying petrol for Shanti Construction P. Ltd.

The police took hold of driver Ram Kumar Thokar and Ram Krishna Basnet, an operator of the construction company, from Bajrabarahi, Takhel Chautara.

Similarly, police had also nabbed two people with 3,000 liters of petrol from Chapagaun area arketing on Tuesday.

Police seized a Mini TATA Truck, Lu A Pha 5000, ferrying 12 drums containing 3,000 liters of diesel for selling at higher prices.

Police are investigating the case after taking Dipak Ghimire and Dil Bahadur Waiba under control.

According to DSP Kishan Singh Thapa, the black marketers have been using Chapagaun as a base for black-marketeering of the fuel.
