NOC starts discussing LPG cylinder safety with dealers

KATHMANDU, March 24: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has started discussions with the dealers about the safety standards of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.


As the number of incidents of LPG cylinder explosion leading to even deaths has increased recently, the NOC has started discussions on the safety and standards of petroleum products to promote safe use.

On Thursday, the corporation held an interaction program with the petrol pump operators. Binitmani Upadhyaya, deputy director of the NOC, said that they have interacted with the owners of petrol pumps in the Kathmandu Valley on matters related to safety and standards.


Upadhyaya said that the director of supply department of the corporation Birendra Goit, president of Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association Lilendra Pradhan and president of Bagmati Dealers Association Achyut Khadka participated in the interaction.


Upadhyaya said that the NOC is planning to hold such programs at all its depots in the coming days. According to Deputy Director Upadhyaya, similar interaction and training will be organized on the issue of LPG cylinder safety standards.


Similarly, the corporation is conducting an LPG cylinder safety campaign on its social networking sites and other platforms.
