KATHMANDU, April 29: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said that there will not be a shortage of fuel in the Kathmandu Valley despite the prohibitory orders that are in place since Thursday morning.

Issuing a press release, NOC has said that its Thankot depot will remain open as usual throughout the restriction period. In the successive two days before the commencement of the prohibited period, people rushed to the gasoline stations citing the possibility of a fuel shortage. As a result, a long queue of motorists had appeared in almost all the gasoline stations in the Valley.

Through the press statement, the NOC has also asked the petroleum pumps concerned to provide their services as in the ordinary days. According to the NOC, it dispatched an adequate quantity of fuel from the Thankot depot, the main supplier of fuel to the Valley, also on Thursday.
