Nobel laureate calls on Prez

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics and Prof. of US-based Indiana University, Elinor Ostrom, paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at Rastrapati Bhawan Tuesday.



On the occasion, Prof. Ostrom told the President that she received the Nobel Prize for her study on the contribution of local communities in the development of local resources and thanked the Government of Nepal and local communities for their support. [break]



According to the President´s Office, Ostrom also informed President Dr. Yadav about her Nepal visit.



The President congratulated Ostrom for being Nobel Laureate and expressed hope that her study will help encourage in the development of Nepal´s natural resources and means, said a press release issued by the President´s Office.
