KATHMANDU, April 21: Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Baidya ruled out any prospect of his party siting for talks with the government in the existing situation, on Sunday.

In a press statement issued today, Baidya said siting for talks with the government now has no meaning as the government only intends to discuss new election.[break]

“We would like to inform that we are unable to sit for talks with this illegitimate government to discuss only the matters of the sponsored election,” reads the statement.

The government had formally invited the agitating parties including CPN-Maoist for talks on April 16. In response to the call, Baidya further said the presidential decree issued to amend various provisions of the Interim Constitution, was a major obstacle for dialogue.
