SARLIHI, May 19: Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel on Sunday ruled out any poll alliance with CPN-UML in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at press conference organized here at Karmaiya VDC in the district, Poudel said that his party would contest elections in all the 240 constituencies. He, however, said that at regional level, his party could support other parties which have similar agendas with NC.[break]

Interacting with journalists, leader Poudel also made it clear that there would be no announcement of poll date unless the political appointments of erstwhile Baburm Bhattarai-led government be scrapped.

Poudel also accused UCPN (Maoist) and Madhes-beased political parties of being opportunist as they have no principle, ideology and plan. He also charged the Maoists of fearing to go for poll as the political appointments made by the earlier government going to be scrapped.

On the occasion, he clarified that there would be only 491 seats in the upcoming constituent Assembly (CA) elections.
