KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday refuted recent reports that the government was preparing to sack the Chief of the Army Staff Gen Rookmangud Katawal as baseless. "The talks about removing [the army chief] is nonsense. There is no plan to sack him," Dahal told reporters at Singha Durbar in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Katawal said his meeting with Defense Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Wednesday was routine.
