POKHARA, April 11: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday said the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections would not be halted despite threats of obstruction issued by some of the parties including CPN-Maoist.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Kaski district chapter  of Revolutionary Journalists’ Association, Dahal said, “ Though some reactionary forces trying to incite CPN-Maoist to obstruct the CA elections but  no one can disrupt the elections now”.

On the occasion, Dahal said that the High Level Political Committee(HLPC) led by him has been urging the UCPN-Maoist to come for talks.

He, however, warned the CPN-Maoist that they will be punished by the people if they continue to overlook the talks offer.

Saying that obstructing election is a violation the people’s fundamental rights, he accused the CPN-Maoist of conspiring to obstruct people to practice their rights by disrupting the elections related activities.
