DADELDHURA, May 17: Senior leader of Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has refuted that there was a need to declare the date for the election immediately.

Talking to journalists in Dadeldhura Friday, he said the date should be declared just three months before the elections as the nation could not bear the election expenses if it was declared right now. [break]

Responding to journalists´ queries whether it was congenial on holding the election based on the multiparty system by a partyless government, former Prime Minister Deuba said the current government was a party government as it was formed by forging consensus among the political parties.

Deuba also said it was not good to elect senior leaders by making an election alliance, but the number of CA members should be as few as possible.

NC leader Deuba said the new CA elections would be held within November at any cost and it would make the NC a major party in the CA.

Talking about the appointment of Lokman Singh Karki, Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), he said it is not good to be biased against anybody in democracy.

NC leader Deuba has arrived in far-west for a 10-day long election campaign.
