KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Public Service Commission has said it has barred government offices from hiring employees on temporary contracts.

Speaking at a press meet at Reporters' Club in the capital Thursday, chairman of the commission Umesh Mainali said that the commission has barred any appointment in the civil service without recommendation from the commission. He said that from now onward anyone who is entitled to salary, allowance and other perks from the state coffers should be recruited only on the recommendation of the commission.

“From now onward, no employees will be hired in the government offices without recommendation from the commission. We have already written to the government and informed about the commission's decision,” he said.
