KATHMANDU, August 7: Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition party CPN-UML, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has claimed that no employee wants to work under Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.

Gyawali, who is also a former foreign minister, also mentioned that the report of the Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on Sharma was not based on facts and no employee wanted to stay under him.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he said that when the country's economy was in a serious state, there was a situation where the finance secretary in the Ministry of Finance had to run away, and he questioned why Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba wasn’t concerned even in such a situation.

Gyawali mentioned that in the past all employees used to fight to go to the Ministry of Finance and said that the employees do not want to go there now due to the activities of Finance Minister Sharma.

He said, "After news came out in the media, some serious questions were raised about the country's state system, the country's administration system and how the government wants to run this administration system. That was the context - no one is willing to become the Finance Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. And, the secretary who is currently performing the role of revenue secretary has also been given the responsibility of finance secretary. At one time, the Ministry of Finance was considered the best ministry of the government. However, today some of the activities of this government have created a situation where the secretaries who are working there are asking for transfer and other employees do not want to stay there.”

Gyawali also made it clear that the report of the Parliamentary Special Committee on the then Finance Minister Sharma is incomplete and cannot be accepted.
