No construction allowed along MCC transmission line corridor

According to a decision made by the Council of Ministers on Monday, no structures or trees will be allowed within 23 meters on either side of the transmission line area, covering a total of 1,381 hectares.

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: The government has prohibited construction of structures and plantation of trees along both sides of the transmission line route under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project.



According to a decision made by the Council of Ministers on Monday, no structures or trees will be allowed within 23 meters on either side of the transmission line area, covering a total of 1,381 hectares.

The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal is constructing a 400 kV transmission line across 10 districts under the MCC project. The decision will apply to Sindhupalchok, Nuwakot, Kathmandu, Makwanpur, and Dhading districts.


Similarly, the restriction also extends to the Tanahun, Chitwan, Palpa, Nawalparasi East, and Nawalparasi West districts, where the transmission line will pass.
