Nine civil society bodies granted permission to observe by-elections

The EC will issue identity cards to the observers, allowing a maximum of two observers from each organization at a polling station.

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Nine civil society organizations have been granted permission to observe the upcoming local-level by-elections scheduled for December 1.  


The organizations receiving permission from the Election Commission (EC) to serve as observers during the by-elections include Jana Prasashan Sangh, Radium Lamichhane Memorial Study and Research Institute, Nepal Human Rights Organization, and Social Mobilization and Awareness Raising Group Nepal.

Similarly, the Central Deaf Campus, Good Governance Federation Nepal, National Election Observation Committee, Democracy Resource Center Nepal, and Informal Sector Services Center have also been granted permission, according to Election Commission spokesperson Nita Pokharel Aryal.
