Nimbus provides cash relief for loss due to bird-flu

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Nimbus has provided cash relief of Rs 343,200 to Prem Kumar Manandhar who suffered loss due to recent bird-flu outbreak in his poultry farm.



Dr Nar Bahadur Rajwar, director general of Department of Livestock Services (DoLS), and Anand Bagaria, managing director of Nimbus, jointly handed over the amount to Manandhar amid a function, according to a Nimbus statement.[break]



Nimbus provided the relief under its recently announced ´Bird Flu Relief Fund´ which is a part of the company´s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative named Nimbus Helping Hand.



A team of technicians from DoLS had culled 2,640 layers chicken on January 2 after bird-flu was confirmed at Manandhar´s farm.



“Nimbus provided the money to the farmer as per the details furnished by Directorate of Animal Health under DoLS,” the statement added.



Nimbus has allocated Rs 7.5 million under ´Bird Flu Relief Fund´ for the next two years.
