KATHMANDU, July 1: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha has said that the government shall give high priority to construction of the Nijgadh International Airport, a project of national pride.
Addressing the Nijgadh Public Concern Committee and Nijgadh Independent Youth Students' Relay Hunger Strike virtually on Thursday, Minister Shrestha said that the government would give high priority to the project of national pride. He said, “The government has given high priority to this international airport and will take this work forward respecting the court's decision.
Take holistic approach to build Nijgadh Int’l Airport
The Nijgadh Public Concern Committee and Nijgadh Independent Youth Students had staged a relay strike demanding a review of the decision not to build the airport.
The Supreme Court had ordered to overturn all the decisions taken by the government in relation to the airport so far. A month after the order was issued, the full text was made public on Wednesday and the option to build an airport in Nijgadh remains open.
