NEPALGUNJ, Feb 16: A group of unidentified persons claiming to be members of yet another new armed group -- Defense Nepal of Trishul Sena -- owned up to latest attacks and explosions that took place in various parts of the country.

Sending a press releases through postal service to journalists in Nepalgunj on Sunday, the group claimed responsibility for the attack on the prime minister´s personal secretary and politburo member of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Shakti Bahadur Basnet and the attack on police post at Syaulibang in Pyuthan.
Basnet had sustained bullet injury on his left leg when an unidentified gang opened fire at him near his residence in Kathmnadu on February 9.
An armed group attacked the police post in Syaulibang on February 7. The group killed a sentry and looted all 10 weapons from the station.
IDefense Nepal of Trishul Sena also threatened to take actions against various organizations and individuals. The statement signed by "Supreme Commander Chandrakanta" has said the group will give death penalty to those involved in killings of cow, trafficking of women and producing fake citizenship.
The group that was unknown so far has claimed to be in operational for the last two years.
Another armed group -- Bhishan Himali Bagh -- had owned up to explosion at the Nepalgunj office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal Friday evening.
According to police, some country-made explosives were detonated in different places on Saturday as well.
