KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday dropped by a notable 28.40 points to close at 2,019.85 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,048.26 points and peaked to the day’s high at 2,055.32 points in the first 30 minutes of the trading. The index then went to a straight fall to hit the day’s low at 2,013.97 points in the last 10 minutes, while the market recovered around six points to close for the day.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies declined 4.86 points. The daily turnover also dropped to Rs 1.737 billion from Rs 2.333 billion on Monday.

All the 13 trading groups lost their market values. Life insurance and Non-life insurance lost the biggest of 196.01 points and 112.25 points, respectively.
Among individual companies, the market values of 198 companies declined. Only 22 companies were recorded as gainers.
IME Life Insurance Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 178.93 million. Global IME Bank Ltd Debenture 2080/81 was the topmost loser.
Swarojgar Laghubitta Bikas Bank Ltd gained the highest of 10 percent in its market price.
