Nepse increases 9.91 points, while daily turnover increases to Rs 3.548 billion on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, July 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday rose 9.91 points to close at 2,154.07 points.   

The secondary market opened at 2,144.16 points and fell to the day’s low at 2,147.15 points in the first half an hour of trading. But the index went up and reached the day’s high at 2,170.93 points in the midway of the trading hours, before it slid to lose around 20 points to close for the day.

Along with an increase in the market index, the sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also gained 3.04 points. The daily turnover surged to Rs 3.548 billion from Rs 2.560 billion on Monday.  

Out of the 13 trading groups, seven were the gainers. Non-life insurance added the largest of 178.73 points. Likewise, hotels and tourism lost the biggest of 86.31 points in its market value.    

Among individual companies, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 217.73 million. BPW Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest of 10 percent of its market price, while Sanima Large Cap Fund was recorded the topmost loser.
