Nepse inches up 4.89 points on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, July 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday inched up 4.89 points to close at 2,050.59 points.

The market opened at 2,045.7 points and went to the intraday low at 2,033.46 points while the index went up to the maximum of 2,061.31 points. The total turnover amount stood at Rs 1.73 billion.

Except for banking, trading, hotels and tourism, hydropower and life insurance, the rest of the eight trading groups got the points added to their indices. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies increased marginally by 0.97 points.

Among individual companies, Shivam Cements has the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 164.25 million. Multipurpose Finance Company Limited was the highest gainer while Laxmi Equity Fund was the top loser for the day.
