Nepse inches up 2.16 points as daily turnover soars to Rs 1.56 billion on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Dec 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday increased marginally by 2.16 points to close at 1,963.22 points. 

The secondary market that opened at 1,961.06 points went through a series of fluctuations throughout the trading hours. The index fell to as low as 1,958.82 points while it rose to the day’s high at 1,973.4 points before the market closed for the day.

The daily turnover increased by a notable amount, to Rs 1.56 billion from Rs 1.32 billion on Thursday. In the intraday trading, a total of 97 companies gained in their share prices while 89 lost in their market values.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also increased 1.17 points. Out of 13 sub-groups, four including manufacturing and processing, finance, banking and development banks lost in their average share prices. Of the nine gainers, life insurance surged three-digit value of 183.36 points, the largest.  

In individual companies, Nabil Bank Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 144.55 million. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the top gainer while NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost the highest percent of its market value.
