Nepse inches up 1.85 points on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, August 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday increased slightly by 1.85 points to close at 2,054.98 points.

KATHMANDU, August 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday increased slightly by 1.85 points to close at 2,054.98 points.


The secondary market opened at 2,053.13 points and reached the day’s highest at 2,059.93 points within the first one hour of the commencement of the trading. However, the market fell to as low as 2,049.04 points before recovering in the intraday trading by around six points.

Six out of the 13 trading groups posted gains while there was no transaction of scripts of investment sub-group. Manufacturing and processing, the highest gaining group witnessed an additional value of 29.37 points in its index.


The total turnover amount was mere Rs 1.33 billion, a drop from Rs 1.72 billion on Monday. Shares of Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company posted the largest transaction amount of Rs 142.18 million. Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited was the biggest gainer while Siddhartha Equity Fund was topmost loser.
