As per the law, listed companies must deposit annual license renewal fee within first three months of the current fiscal year - a deadline which expired on Tuesday. [break]
“These companies were reminded about the due amount a month ago. But they did not heed our call,” Nepse said in a statement on Wednesday. “The transaction of their securities will resume only after the annual renewal fee is deposited.”
Some of the companies whose transactions have been halted include Hotel Yak & Yeti Hotel, Jyoti Spinning Mill, NB Insurance, Harisiddhi Bricks and Tile Factory, Gorakhkali Rubber, Bhrikuti Pulp and Paper, Nepal Film Development Board, National Hydropower, Nepal Trading Limited, Butwal Spinning Mill, Arun Vanaspati and Birat Shoes.
Similarly, some of the financial institutions, whose share transactions were halted, include Gorkha Development Bank, Birat Laxmi Development Bank, Swastik Merchant Finance, Multipurpose Finance, Eastern and Central rural development banks, General Finance, Crystal, Himalayan Finance, Pokhara Finance and Capital Merchant Banking.
Likewise, transaction of bonds floated by Nepal Electricity Authority has also been suspended.
