KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday increased marginally by 8.9 points on Wednesday— a day after the whopping fall of 84.9 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,265.52 points dropped to as low as 2,238.63 points in the intraday trading. However, the market took an upward graph in the rest of the trading and finally closed at 2,274.42 points.
Nepse fails to add to previous gains, posts a marginal decline
Eight out of 13 trading groups gained in the average share prices. The life-insurance group that had lost 592.59 points on the previous day, however, fell 98.91 points on Wednesday too.
Despite witnessing a gain on the overall index, the transaction amount could not rise due to the low confidence among the investors. The single-day turnover amount fell to Rs 1.32 billion from Rs 1.64 billion.
Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 53.83 million. Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd was the topmost gainer whereas Suryodaya Womi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost the highest percent in its share price.
