KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday jumped up by 28.91 points to close at 2,612.20 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,583.29 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,580.82 points in the first 40 minutes. During the remaining trading hours, the index gradually inclined and added 32 points before it closed for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also acquired 3.48 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 4.43 billion from Rs 4.51 billion on Sunday.
Only the mutual fund index witnessed a fall of 0.89 points. Out of the 12 gainers, market value of manufacturing and processing surged by the largest of 167.77 points.
Among the individual companies, 194 were gainers while 41 were registered as losers. Janaki Finance Company Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 188.46 million.
Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha and Super Madi Hydropower Limited were recorded as the top gainers. Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited suffered the largest loss of 10 percent of its market price.
