NEPSE gains 10.14 points; daily turnover declines to Rs 2.35 billion

KATHMANDU, March 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased by 10.14 points to close at 2,041.70 points.

The market opened at 2,031.55 points and escalated by around 14 points in the first half an hour. In the next 20 minutes, the index however declined to as low as 2,032.62 points. The index gradually escalated to the day’s high at 2,048.64 points in the last one hour of the trading time. In the remaining period, the market slid around seven points to close for the day.  

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 0.86 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 2.35 billion from Rs 2.48 billion on Monday.

Three groups were recorded as losers, while life insurance had its index decline by the highest of 19.20 points. Out of 10 gainers, manufacturing and processing added the largest of 145.87 points to its index.

Among individual companies, only 168 were recorded as gainers whereas 68 were the losers.

Shivam Cements had transactions of its shares worth Rs 93.13 million and led the segment of highest turnover. Dolti Power Company Limited was the topmost gainer while Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 9.35 percent of its market price.
