Nepse falls marginally by 2.57 points, daily turnover just above Rs 1 billion

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday declined slightly by 2.57 points to close at 1,956.36 points.

The market that opened at 1,958.94 points witnessed fluctuations throughout the trading hours. Within the first few minutes of the opening, the market reached the day’s highest at 1,965.78 points. However, in the next half an hour, the market reached as low as 1,948.36 points.

The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 1.05 billion, a straight fall from Rs 2.81 billion on the previous day. Eight out of the 13 trading groups lost in their market values.

Life insurance gained 93.61 points, followed by non-life insurance, others and finance. Among the losers, manufacturing and processing lost the largest value of 36.58 points.   

Among individual companies, the shares of Shivam Cements were transacted for the largest amount worth Rs 85.73 million. Kalika Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost loser while Life Insurance Corporation Nepal gained the highest percent in its market price.
