KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell 20.48 points to 2,566.76 on Monday.
The Sensitive Index declined 3.23 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index fell 1.47 points and 1.13 points, respectively.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Turnover also fell by more than Rs 1 billion compared with Friday. A total of 9 million shares of 359 stocks changed hands through 44,777 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 3.279 billion. The market recorded turnover of Rs 4.29 billion on Friday.
The 10.30 percent Standard Chartered Bank debenture posted the highest gain, rising 5.75 percent. The 10 percent Nepal SBI Bank Debenture 2086 and Global IME Samunnat Yojana 2 also gained around 5 percent. Most of the top 10 gainers were debentures.
Ghalemdi Hydro recorded the highest turnover at Rs 228.6 million, followed by Hathaway Investment at Rs 84.9 million and Shivam Cements at Rs 84.3 million.
Of the 13 subgroups, the trading subgroup edged up, while the other 12 declined.
