Nepse falls 14.5 points on last transaction day of this week

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 14.5 points to close at 2,876.74 points on Thursday after the investors rushed to book the profit.

With a significant selling of stocks, the transaction volume surged to Rs 8.61 billion– the largest of the trading volume this week– despite a double-digit fall in the market index. Except for non-life insurance and hydropower, indices of the rest of 11 groups landed on red in the intraday trading.

With a surge in its scrip’s price by 178.10 per unit, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost gainer. The company on Thursday too faced circuit breaker due to a whooping rise in its shares’ price. For the past few days, investors have been thronging to buy the company’s shares.

Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share was the highest loser. Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company, with a transaction of its scrips worth Rs 827.03 million led in terms of the turnover amount.
