Nepse drops marginally by 3.07 points, while daily turnover stands below Rs 1 billion on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, April 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday slid 3.07 points to close at 1,904.98 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,908.05 points and peaked to the day’s high at 1,911.45 points in the first few minutes of trading. In the next moment, the market index plunged to as low as 1,893.5 points before taking an upward move again. 

Out of the 13 trading groups, three including hotels and tourism, non-life insurance and mutual funds gained in their market values. Of the remaining 10 losers, manufacturing and processing lost the highest of 49.61 points.  

In the intraday trading, 138 listed companies were the losers, while 62 companies added value in their market prices. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies gained 0.17 points.

The daily turnover fell to Rs 870.44 million from Rs 920.07 million on Monday. In three consecutive trading days this week, the daily turnover amount has not crossed even Rs 1 billion.

Among individual companies, Prabhu Bank Limited Promoter Share had transactions of its shares worth Rs 52.63 million and was the topmost on the lists. Khaptad Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest percentage of its market price, while Kalinchowk Darshan Limited was recorded for the highest gainer.
