Nepse drops by marginal 2.13 points while daily turnover barely crosses Rs 1 billion mark on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday slipped marginally by 2.13 points to close at 1,937.74 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,939.88 points and plummeted to the day’s low at 1,925.48 points in the first one and a half hours of the trading started. However, the market hit the maximum of 1,947.69 points before losing around 10 points to close for the day.

Amid depleting confidence of the investors, the daily turnover stood at mere Rs 1.04 billion. Seven out of the 13 trading groups witnessed declines in their average share prices.

In the individual companies, Himalayan Everest Insurance Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 131.04 million. Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the top loser whereas Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha gained the biggest percent of its share value.
