Nepse drops 34.95 points on Monday

KATHMANDU, April 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) declined by 34.95 points to close at 2,386.01 points on Monday, just on the next day of a gain of 95.52 points in the secondary market.

The market that opened at 2,420.96 points went through a series of fluctuations and hit the maximum of 2,443.97 points within the first hour of the commencement of the intraday trading. Subsequently, the market plunged as low as 2,382.38 points before closing finally at 2,386.01 points.

Despite a rise in Nepse, the turnover amount fell marginally from Rs 2.53 billion to Rs 2.04 billion. Except for hotels and tourism and mutual funds, the indices of the remaining 11 groups declined on Monday trading.

Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company had the largest amount of its shares transaction worth Rs 81.19 million. Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share was the top loser while Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha posted the largest percent gain in its share price.
