Nepse bounced back with a gain of 63.67 points, investors gained Rs 91 billion last week

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) posted gains of 63.67 points last week.

The secondary market opened at 1,858.49 points on Monday and closed at 1,922.16 points on Thursday. During the period, the market rose to as high as 1,956.42 points while it went to the minimum at 1,857.20 points.

With adding 16.39 points, the market on Monday opened with a positive note for the last week. The Nepse index increased for successive two days, followed by a decline of 16.14 points on Thursday.

The total transaction was recorded at Rs 4.35 billion, whereas the average daily turnover was Rs 1.088 billion. The single day highest transaction was Rs 1.46 billion on Wednesday. Similarly, the lowest transaction a day was Rs 697.31 million on Monday.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies also increased 13.50 points. In individual companies, NIC Asia had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 196.40 million. Emerging Nepal Limited was the topmost gainer (14.72 percent) and NIC Asia Balanced Fund lost the largest percent in its market value last week.

Along with an increase in the Nepse index, the market capitalization also increased from 2.673 trillion to Rs 2.764 trillion. Overall, the investors earned capital gains of Rs 91 billion from shares transactions.
