KATHMANDU, April 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) inclined up by 30.72 points last week, posting a weekly gain in the past one month.
The secondary market opened at 2,325.45 points on Sunday and finally closed at 2,356.17 points on Thursday. Along with an increase in the market index, the investors also gained Rs 43.71 billion in their share values, with the market capitalization increasing from Rs 3.307 trillion to Rs 3.351 trillion.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
The market escalated by a whopping 95.52 points on Sunday, followed by a decline of 34.95 points and 15.02 points on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The index, however, increased by a marginal 5.17 points on Wednesday. Similarly, the secondary market slipped 20 points on Thursday.
The turnover amount increased by 11 percent to Rs 8.20 billion during the review week. Arun Valley Hydropower, Himalayan Distillery, Shivam Cement, Sanima Bank Promoter Share and Api Power Company had the largest transaction of their shares.
The share price of Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha increased 61 percent, the largest of all. Similarly, NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha witnessed the biggest fall of 5.18 percent in its share price.
