KATHMANDU, April 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday bounced back by 17.36 points to close at 1,905.68 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,888.32 points and gained around seven points in the first one hour trading. In the next moment, the index plunged to the day’s low to 1,885.32 points before the market recovered with a double-digit gain to close for the day.

Mutual fund was the single loser of the day. Out of the remaining 12 gainers, non-life insurance posted the highest gain of 95.42 points.
In the intraday trading, 168 listed companies were gainers, while 44 companies recorded a loss in their market values. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies also gained 4.27 points.
The daily turnover stood at Rs 885.57 million, slightly more than Rs 751.33 million on Monday. In the past eight trading days, the market turnover has been recorded at less than Rs 1 billion exhibiting the low confidence of investors in the stock exchange.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements recorded the biggest share transaction of Rs 70.09 million. Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited gained the highest percentage to its market price, while Sunrise Bluechip Fund was the biggest loser.
