JAPAN, Jan 15: NRNA Japan has provided food, besides arranging for toilets to Japanese citizens in the earthquake-affected areas. On New Year's Day, 725 Japanese citizens in the two camps in Wajima and Suzusi, the earthquake-affected area centered on the Nodo Peninsula of Ishigawa Prefecture, were given food and four temporary toilets were set up, according to NRNA Japan President Nabin Niure.
Among the areas most affected by the earthquake, on Friday, 300 people in the camp at Sea Mie Community Center in Waji and 400 people in the nearby camp, 225 people in the camp of Suzusi Ida Secondary School and 325 people in the nearby camp - a total of 725 people - were given food.
After the earthquake, more than 200 people lost their lives, and hundreds of people are without communication, and Japanese citizens who still facing difficulties in the availability of daily essentials, including the regularity of water supply, electricity, road operation, etc, have been supported as much as possible by the Nepali side, according to Niure.

“Despite the bad weather and the roads being damaged in the earthquake, we were able to reach the earthquake-affected areas and give the impression that Nepalis are with the Japanese people during disasters,” he said.
Jigyan Kumar Thapa, a member of the expert committee of NRNA Japan and a member of the support team, said that the Japanese people seemed happy after they were able to eat hot food during the cold weather and while they were disturbed by the pain of the earthquake.
Thapa said that while Japan and Japanese citizens have been helping Nepali people during natural disasters in Nepal, they also reached the disaster-affected areas and helped Japanese people. The General Secretary of NRNA Japan, Tikaram Kharel, said that Nepalis in Japan are aware of their responsibility to help the citizens of Japan in times of hardships and natural calamities.
