Nepalis continue winning ways

KATHMANDU, June 2: Nepali youths continued their stellar performance, with all ten Nepali players registering wins on Tuesday, in the second round of the ongoing Lion Kamrupa-Nepal Junior Friendly Chess tournament underway in Guwahati, Assam, India. [break]



Junior Nepal champion Rukesh Duwal, rated 1758, defeated Arham Jain, who put up a spirited challenge. Likewise, No. 2 Madan Krishna Kayastha, rated 1906, eased past Tiny Hajra, who participated in the tourney from Tuesday.



Prajwal Raj Rajopadhya, rated 1783, downed Mohit Jain, while Prakash Nepal, who also started playing on Tuesday, emerged victorious. Nepal defeated Jyotimoi Dev Joswami.



Likewise, Prasant Vashim beat Subham Jain, Sri Krishna Prajapati beat Pravab Agrawal, Bijay Man Thaiba beat Subham Chhejara, Sajin Maharjan beat Ruchit Chauhan, and Manishwor Thapa beat Avinash Goyal.



With the wins, all Nepali players have added two points each to their tally.
