KATHMANDU, June 21: Qatari ambassador to Nepal Yousuf Mohammad Ahmed Mommad Al-hail has said that Qatar government will not let any Nepali migrant worker face difficulties due to the recent diplomatic tensions seen in the Gulf region.
During his meeting with Minister for Labor and Employment Farmullah Mansoor at the latter's office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Ambassadir Al-hail said that life in Qatar is normal as before despite countries led by Saudi Arabia imposing tough economic measures against Qatar for its alleged support to terrorist organizations. The envoy had asked Minister Mansoor not to worry about Nepali workers as the Qatar government has left no stone unturned to make sure that no one in the country faced any kind of hardships, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
The envoy made such assurance after Minister Mansoor raised questions about the fate of Nepali workers in Qatar in the context of the latest diplomatic tensions. Minister Mansoor expressed hope that the diplomatic tensions would be resolved soon through peaceful means.
During the meeting, Minister Mansoor had discussed about resolving the problems faced by Nepali migrant workers through a technical committee meeting under Labor Agreement reached between the two countries. Ambassador Al-hail had positively responded to Nepal's request to create an environment to send highly-skilled people to Qatar for works, according to the statement.
