Nepali students going abroad for studies took Rs 1.25 trillion last FY

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Nepali students who went abroad for studies in the last fiscal year took Rs 1.25 trillion along with them. This data is only of one year.



According to the data of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), students going abroad for studies from Nepal have taken Rs 1.25 trillion with them up to the month of Ashad 2081 BS (FY 2023/24).

In the fiscal year 2023/24, the amount of money leaving Nepal for travel abroad increased by 31.1 percent, reaching Rs 1.81 trillion.


Of  this amount, Rs 1.25 trillion left the country in the name of education abroad.


In the previous fiscal year, the amount spent on travel abroad was Rs 1.44 trillion, with Rs 1.25 trillion taken specifically for education.
