KATHMANDU, Oct 16: ‘Agnidahan’, a Nepali film on the issue of accusing women for practicing witchcraft, will go on production from this week, the makers said in a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Ghanshyam Lamichhane has been roped in to direct the film that will be set in the Terai region of Nepal. “Through this film, we’re reviving an issue that the society has long forgotten,” said Lamichhane, whose previous film was last year’s ‘Dhauli’.
MATURITY
At the press meet, Dinesh Thapaliya, Secretary at Ministry of Information and Communication, assured that the government bodies are ready to provide any kind of support during the making of
the film.
The cast of ‘Agnidahan’ includes Anupam Bhandari, Pramila Tulachan, Prakash Ghimire, Maotse Gurung, Tulasa GC, Tara Gurung, Bishnu Banstola and Om Paudel among others. The principal photography of the film will take place in Hetaunda, Chitwan and Pokhara. Dirgha Gurung will shoot the film.
The makers said that all the profits from the film will go to charity.
