KATHMANDU, Dec 14: In the re-election underway for the post of party president under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC), 700 votes have been cast so far (till 4:45 PM).


Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Dr Shekhar Koirala are competing in the second round of election. Six polling booths have been set up at the National Assembly.

Both the candidates are asking the voters to cast their votes in their favor.


In the elections held on Monday, none of the five candidates for the post of president got 51 percent of the votes and the election committee decided to hold a re-election as per the party's statute. According to the party’s leaders, voting will continue till 7:30 PM.
