The industry provided direct employment to 80 out of 150 trainees last year, said Training Coordinator Dhan Bahadur BK.
The industry has been manufacturing carpets by importing raw materials from Tibet. The price of a piece of carpet made of pure woolen is Rs 15,000, he said.
The hand-weaved carpets are first sent to Kathmandu and exported to foreign countries from there, said Industry Chairperson Bhim Baraili.
