Nepal women atop Mt Kosciuszko

KATHMANDU, July 28: Members of Everest Women 7 Summits Eco Action reached the summit of Mt Kosciuszko/Targangil (2228m) - the tallest peak of Australia - on July 7, as a part of their campaign to summit the tallest peaks of all the continents.



The team had started the expedition in June.



Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) was the major sponsor of this leg of the mission, which was also supported by Government of Nepal, The North Face, Nepal Airlines, Veg Climate Alliance, The Crossing Land Education Trust, Outdoor Education Group, Supreme Master TV, ICIMOD, Non-Residential Nepalis and Nepal Tourism Board, the expedition said in a statement issued on Wednesday.



The women mountaineers also made presentations on impact of climate change in Nepal Himalayas, according to the statement.
