Army player Khildhoj Khadka had won the second bronze medal for Nepal as Aryal had opened the medal tally for Nepal when he secured first bronze medal of the beach games in the equestrian individual event earlier in the morning.
Aryal, making the first international appearance scored 1.5 points more than runner-up Jaswinder Singh from India and Khadka scored 23 points for securing bronze. Altogether 11 players had participated in the event from Nepal, India and host Sri Lanka.
Aryal who had won bronze in the equestrian individual had scored 28 points. India won both gold and silver in the event.
After winning gold, Aryal, 35, said that he did not have experiences of participating in international tournaments and also committed mistakes. "Now I have gained confidence."
Nepal has remained in the second position in the team equestrian event. "The horses here are disobedient than we used to train in Nepal, Aryal said.
Football
Nepal got a mixed result in football on Sunday following a humiliating 11-2 defeat at the hands of host Sri Lanka on Saturday. Nepal registered a 5-3 win against Maldives in the first football match of the day and lost 5-1 against Bangladesh in another.
Nirajan Malla completed hat-trick while Captain Suman Subedi and Sabindra Shrestha scored against Maldives. Malla had also scored twice for Nepal against Sri Lanka. Nepal had played 3-3 until the first break. Both the teams failed to score in the second period but added two other goals during the last period for the win.
Nepali goalie Rupak Shrestha made some brilliant saves to deny goals from Maldives.
After the win, Malla said that the team had gained some experiences of playing on the beach. "We will play better in the upcoming matches." Coach Yam Bahadur Gurung said.
Nepal had taken 1-0 lead against Bangladesh in the first half through Nirajan Malla. But Nepal conceded five goals in the later stage of the match. Despite the loss Nepal still has chances of wining medal. Nepal will face Maldives in the third place playoff.
Kabaddi
Nepal lost both the men´s and women´s matches in Kabaddi on Sunday. Nepali men´s team was humiliated 71-19 by Sri Lanka and also lost with huge margin against India in another match. Nepali women´s team was handed 71-34 defeat from India. Nepali team´s captain Sanjay Shrestha said that it was difficult to play on the beach.
Meanwhile, two Nepali Kabbadi players have sustained injuries in the game. Shanti Lama and Dumber Baduwal will miss all the remaining games.
Basketball
Nepal women team faced huge margin defeat in the first beach basketball as well. Nepal lost its matches against hosts Sri Lanka and India. Sri Lanka thrashed Nepal 21-6. Nepal also lost with a similar score against India. Sujata Rai was the highest scorer of the match against hosts with four points.
Beach Volleyball
Nepal got a mixed result in the beach volleyball on Sunday. Pair of Sanjay Aryal and Im Bahadur Rana defeated Afghanistan 2-1 in men´s event. Nepal took the first set 21-13 and lost the second 18-21.
Nepal bounced in the final set and took it by 15-11.Nepali players, Nita Shah and Chuda Khadka, who had won bronze medal during the South Asian Beach Volley in 2006, lost against the hosts in two straight sets under the women´s section.
