KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Nepal on Tuesday defeated Bhutan 4-0 in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Cup.
On the first day of the match held at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, Sabitra Bhandari scored two consecutive goals for Nepal in the 12th and 67th minutes of the game. Similarly, Anita Basnet scored the third and the fourth goal on behalf of Nepal in the 73rd minute and 85th minute of the game. Bhutan could not score any goal during the match.

Nepal and Bhutan faced each other in the Group-B of the championship. With the winning start, Nepal has got three points. Nepal will play the next match against Sri Lanka on September 13.
On Wednesday, two arch rivals-India and Pakistan-will be facing each other in the second game of the championship.
