Nepal takes on Hong Kong today

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Nepali national cricket team, which left for the UAE on Tuesday to compete in the ICC World Cricket League Championship and other matches, will begin its journey against Hong Kong in a two-day (friendly) match that will kick off on Thursday.



Nepal, which is scheduled to take on Papua New Guinea on November 16 and 18 in the second round of the championship, will face Hong Kong at Abu Dhabi Oval at 11.30 NST.

Hong Kong is touring the UAE for the ICC Intercontinental Cup and ICC World Cricket League Championship’s matches against the Gulf country.


After the two-day match ends on Friday, Nepal is scheduled to take on a team from Pakistan in a 50-over match on November 8.


Nepal will also take on Danube Cricket Club on November 11 and Oman on November 14 in 50-over matches before taking on PNG.


The 16-member Nepali team comprises skipper Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Subash Khakurel, Basant Regmi, Shakti Prasad Gauchan, Sagar Pun, Anil Kumar Mandal, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Mahesh Kumar Chhetri, Mehboob Alam, Sharad Vesawkar, Prithu Baskota, Irshad Ahamad, Naresh Bahadur Budhayer and Bikram Sob.


Pubudu Dassanayake is the head coach, while Dipendra Pratap Singh is the assistant coach. Basanta Raj Satyal is the team manager, Raman Shiwakoti is the technical analyst and Shreel Bhagat is the physiotherapist of the team.
