KATHMANDU, July 14: In the ongoing ACC Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, Nepal faced a defeat against Pakistan. Today's match in Sri Lanka witnessed Nepal's loss to Pakistan A by 4 wickets.

After winning the toss, Nepal opted to bat first and scored 179 runs in 37 overs, losing all wickets. In response, Pakistan successfully chased the target, reaching 180 runs in 32 overs with the loss of 6 wickets.

During Nepal's batting, Sompal Kami played a crucial innings, scoring 75 runs off 101 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes. However, the rest of the team couldn't contribute significantly, resulting in a modest total. Pakistan's Shahnawaz Dahani took 5 wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed 4 wickets.

On the bowling side, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took 3 wickets, Pawan Sharraf took 2 wickets, and Kusal Malla grabbed 1 wicket for Nepal.

Nepal will face India 'A' in their second match on Monday, which will be a day-night match. The final group stage match for Nepal will be against UAE 'A' on Wednesday. The tournament consists of 6 teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for July 21. The winners of the semi-finals will compete for the championship title in the final match on July 23.
